I played it in the theater on the projector and it looked good.so just need to confirm.
But 'John Wick 3 parabellum' isn't working. hevc file and I'm putting it back into tsmuxer. If Handbrake (along with others) were smart, they would look inside the 'disc.inf' file and read the correct playlist, that's what it is there for.

I am still unclear about how "downscaling" with Kodi playing 4k videos on a 1080p display actually works. I had the original BDMV folder, I made it into a single layer dual track using makemkv. AnyDVD should list the playlist in it's status window and on the root of the disc/rip inside the 'disc.inf' file, you don't need to create or dig through logfiles to find it. Not gonna waste time, disc space and $$ ripping 4k discs, if the result in the main home theater is worse than a regular BD rip. While having the 4k in the bedroom is nice.my primary concern is still with the main home theater, so do not want to be watching a "degrated" image. Alternatively you can setup DVDShrink to output an ISO file. If the DVD is 10 years old DVDShrink should be able to do it. Then run MakeMKV using 'Open DVD files Manually'.
I suppose I should also rip the regular BD and do a comparison or maybe just compare to the actual BD in the BD player. Get hold of an old program DVDShrink aand first set it up not to shrink and save it to you hdd. The one thing I am not sure about is when I play the file in my 1080p theater (Odroid C2 running Kodi) is the "downscaled" image equivalent to what it would have been if it was a rip from the regular BD for the movie. Yesterday, I got the 4k BD for John Wick 2 and ripped it 1-1.came out at around 70gb. I recently got a 4k/HDR tv for my bedroom so now I am thinking about getting 4k discs going forward so I can watch them in 4k in the bedroom if I want.
